NHS Heliport Assistance
During the design, construction and commissioning of hospital heliports, we can provide regulatory advice and guidance on aviation matters to any NHS Trust. Our aim is to ensure that the helicopters can operate safely; ensuring critically ill patients receive the very best care as quickly as possible.
We provide heliport advice on existing sites or new developments for all three types of heliports:
Hospital Trust Technical / Engineering Authority
As Trust TA, we are your single point of contact regarding all elements of operations of your site. From training to PAM returns, operational development, link into NHS England and Civil Aviation Authority. We will develop and implement your operations manual as well as aviation risk assessments.
Our service gives you the opportunity to discuss your design objectives and requirements with one of our heliport experts. If you have architect drawings or a site plan, we can carry out an initial assessment and let you know if your requirements are achievable.
CAP 1264 Hospital Helipad Inspection and Certification
The future of hospital helipads is without doubt certification. We have been working with the UK Civil Aviation Authority since 2015 as their only certification contractor working on hospital helipads. Our next level is audit and certification of hospital helipads, not only to assure hospital trusts but also helicopter operators.
Feasibility Study
We will visit your site to fully review any suggested plans or requirements. We provide a full report advising you of our findings and recommendations and also help you focus on some of the important elements of operating a heliport at this early stage.
RIBA Stages
Based on the RIBA process, Once a tenderer is selected, we work with the contractor and help them develop the detail around their design, ensuring they meet all necessary aviation regulations. Once construction begins, we are available to provide our advice and guidance as follows:
We can provide a final sign of inspection and a certificate of compliance confirming your heliport is constructed to the CAP 1264 regulations. In addition, we can follow this up with an ongoing inspection programme on a two-year basis to ensure that nothing has changed on or around your site, or that nothing affects the safe transportation of your patients.
